SERIES: FAMILY WORSHIP: #1 – Family Worship / Family Time for Christians

OTHER POSTS IN THIS SERIES: Post 2, Post 3, Post 4, Post 5

You may or may not have heard about this idea…  but it’s a good one overall.  You’ll hear it talked about in a variety of extremes – as a good thing, as a helpful thing, as a mandatory thing.  I don’t go so far as to say the practice of an “official” family time is mandatory… but I do say this – it is mandatory for Christian parents to lead their children into love of, worship of, and delight in the Lord.  Weekly family time is a very great and wonderful tool toward that end, that our family has found irreplaceable.

In the next few weeks I’ll be doing some posts about this practice, including mistakes I’ve made and things I’ve learned to make it go smoother.  We’ll talk about the difficulties of multiple ages of children, ideas of what to do in the first place, how to teach your kids to engage in family worship, and the overall benefits.  I’ll also include some “guest” posts from my kids… and maybe my wife, letting you hear what each of them thinks about family time.

This should be fun!
